Nestled in the breathtaking beauty of The Archipelago, Ontario, the Waltonians Club is a cherished gathering of dedicated anglers and stewards of the fishing tradition. More than just a club, we are a brotherhood of passionate fishermen who carry forward a legacy of camaraderie, conservation, and the pure joy of casting lines in some of Canada’s most pristine waters.

Our story began in 1952, with humble roots as the SKF Rod and Gun Club, founded by a group of colleagues from SKF Canada Ltd. Though our early days were marked by challenges—tight budgets, borrowed beer money, and winter lulls—the determination of nine steadfast members in 1953 breathed new life into the club. Inspired by Sir Isaac Walton, the “dean of all fishermen,” we adopted the name Waltonians as a nod to our shared passion and enduring love for the angler’s art.

Today, we honor the spirit of our founders—Norm Smith, Charley Moorey, John Cake, Fred Cox, Bud Baker, Ray Corman, Lloyd Annis, Pete Garson, and Herb Banning—whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for a club that has stood the test of time.

The Waltonians Club is more than a name; it’s a living history, a tradition passed down through generations, and a testament to the friendships formed on the water. Join us in celebrating the simple pleasures of fishing, the unspoiled beauty of the islands, and the shared stories that make us who we are—the true gems of The Archipelago.
